Patriarch Alexis II Rewarded Samvel Karapetyan

Patriarch Alexis II of Moscow and All Russia has awarded Samvel Karapetyan, president and founder of Tashir Group, with a second class order of the Faithful Saint Prince Daniil of Moscow for restoring the church in Nedelnoye village to the south of Maloyaroslavets, Kaluzhskaya region.

The order of the Faithful Saint Prince Daniil of Moscow was established to commemorate 1000 years since the introduction of Christianity into Russia by Patriarch Pimen of Moscow and All Russia and by the Holy Synod in 1988. The order is dedicated to St. Daniil of Moscow, it has three classes and is awarded in recognition of merits in spiritual resurgence of Russia.

Upon the initiative of Mr Karapetyan, Tashir charity fund has restored the Cathedral of the Assumption Day in Maloyaroslavets. The 18-century building was completely renovated and donated to Kaluga eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church.
