Grand Opening of RIO at Dmitrovskoe highway, Moscow

This February 28, Tashir Group held an opening ceremony for RIO Megamall at Dmitrovskoe highway, Moscow. Yury Luzhkov, Mayor of Moscow, visited the event.

The new RIO with over 220K sq m GBA is one of Moscow’s largest shopping and entertainment centres. The construction took Tashir Group a record-breaking 1.5 years. Project investments totaled USD 300 million.

The new mall concept offers comfortable shopping and entertainment for all sorts of audiences. According to expert forecasts, daily traffic of RIO can make up to 100K people on weekends and up to 60K people, on weekdays. SK Royal Hotel, also built—and currently managed—by Tashir, is located just outside the new RIO.

The complex currently features leading retail chains and global brands to include Marks&Spencer, Douglas, Lady&Gentleman, Eldorado, Detsky Mir, Detskie Razvlecheniya, Snezhnaya Koroleva, Sportmaster, O'stin, adidas, Nike, Mexx, and Topshop. Besides, the megamall has Nash Hypermarket, the food supermarket being Moscow’s largest project of OAO Sedmoy Kontinent. Soon, RIO will also get a modern, 8-hall Cinema Star multiplex, a bowling club, a kids’ entertainment centre, cozy restaurant zone, and a spacey food court.
