A new Culture, Arts, and Leisure Complex named after A. Raykin, built by Tashir Group, has opened in Moscow. As of now, the following buildings have been fully constructed and commissioned: the graduate school of performing arts, and a state-of-the-art open air theatre. The area around the Centre had been landscaped and a new city park built next to the Centre. Tashir Group invested over 8 billion roubles into the Culture, Arts, and Leisure Complex named after A. Raykin. The total area of the Centre is 85,000 square metres.

Tashir Group started building the Culture, Arts, and Leisure Complex in 2011. Within 18 months, the company managed to complete all ground works and to fully construct both of the Centre's buildings, which include class rooms and rehearsal areas for studying performing arts; light- and audio engineering; and theatre management, along with specially equipped areas for stage movement, music, vocalism, and dance. A technically-complex transforming hall was built for the theatre school along with a new tiered stalls area on the school roof. There is a new stage for the Open Air Theatre that is equipped for both theatre and circus performances, and has become the first theatre for mass entertainment events in Moscow. This is based on design infrastructure from some of the best open-air theatres in the world.

Andrey Ilyaev, vice-president of Tashir Group, says about the project: “The construction of the Culture, Arts, and Leisure Complex named after A. Raykin has become the next significant step for Tashir Group. Within eighteen months we managed to fully build the Complex, furnish it with state-of-the-art theatre equipment, create and improve the infrastructure, and build a new retail centre. We are proud of this project not only due to its state-of-the-art construction but also for Tashir making a contribution into promoting culture, education, and redevelopment of the capital of Russia. We value highly the confidence vested in us by the Moscow City Government.”

Konstantin Raykin, the art director of the studio school and People’s artist of Russia, expressed his huge gratitude to Tashir Group. He believes that the Complex would have never been built without the contribution of Tashir: “The Company made our dream come true: we were dreaming of creating a new theatre institution with a lighting structure that has no equals not only in Russia but also throughout the rest of Europe. These new opportunities provided by Tashir Group are destined to enrich any director’s message and help to bring out any actor’s potential.”

August 31st saw the grand opening of the Graduate School of Performing Arts, and students started attending classes on September 2nd.
