On 19 February, in Moscow, the awards ceremony of the first national Russian Hospitality Awards 2015 took place, where approximately 100 hotels from all over Russia fought for the title of “Best …” in 18 categories. The Tashir Group’s project – the Kwan ski complex (Kaluga City) surpassed the most well-known Russian hotels in the "Best Ski Hotel" category and was recognized as the best in the country.
The award was received by Polina Kochenkova, Director General of the hotel’s management company, SK Hotel Management (part of the Tashir Group). Ms. Kochenkova thanked all the members of the jury for the high rating and noted the importance of this award for the complex, which after its six years of existence had earned the recognition of athletes and tourists from all over Russia.
The Kwan Ski Complex is located in a picturesque area by the Oka River in the vicinity of Kaluga city centre. On the vast territory of the complex (19 hectares) the following facilities are to be found: a hotel, ski trails and lifts, all the infrastructure for all kinds of winter and summer entertainment, a fitness centre and a recreation centre. An important feature of the Kwan complex is the innovative design of the slope: the main track starts directly from the roof of the five-storey hotel building and then smoothly blends in with the natural slope.
For many years, the Hospitality Awards have been held in the largest European cities. In 2015, the award took place in the Russian Federation and was attended by leading representatives of the hotel business in the country. The main objectives of the awards are the development and prosperity of the hospitality industry in Russia, as well as enhancing its tourist appeal.
Along with the winner, the Kwan Complex, the Olympic Sochi hotels have been competing for the title of Best Ski Complex at the Russian Hospitality Awards 2015, including: Rixos Krasnaya Polyana Sochi, Sochi Marriott Krasnaya Polyana, Solis Sochi Hotel, Golden Tulip Rosa Khutor, and Aldego Village Hotel and Spa (the Bashkortostan Republic).
