Tashir Group to add a new building to Tambov’s largest shopping mall

Tashir Group plans to complete Stage II of the RIO shopping center in Tambov in Q3 2020. The new building will almost double the mall’s total area, bringing it to 58,000 sq.m. and making RIO the largest shopping center in Tambov Province.

The new building will have five stories with a total area of 28,000 sq.m. These include three overground levels of retail space and two underground parking levels for 300 cars. Currently, construction workers have completed the connection between the existing building and the new one, as well as two underground parking levels. Finishing interior works are under way. Considering the mall’s location in the heart of the city, special attention will be given to designing the new building and re-designing the existing one. Unique design project envisages a facade covered with natural stone, including natural travertine.

Once Stage II opens, a large number of national and international retailers will make their debut in Tambov at RIO: Pyatyorochka, Sinsay, Gloria Jeans, LensMaster, Kari, Intimissimi, Calzedonia and others. Also, RIO will get Tambov’s first family entertainment center over 2,500 sq.m. In addition, the mall will get a new modern food court with a panoramic view of the city’s central park. The area will feature approximately eight fast food operators and two restaurants. With the addition of the new building, the five-story mall will bring the number of tenants up to 200.

The existing four-story mall of 30,000 sq.m. is located in the very heart of Tambov, on the city’s main street, Sovetskaya, right next to the Central Park and the city’s main embankment.
Currently, RIO receives about 15,000 visitors daily. Considering the mall’s central location and the list of tenants waiting to move into the second building, traffic is expected to grow by 40%.
