Tashir-2013 Music Awards at the State Kremlin Palace on May 18 prove to be huge success

On May 18th, the 7th Tashir-2013 National Music Awards for outstanding contributions to Armenian musical culture were successfully held at the State Kremlin Palace. The grand ceremony was transmitted live on Armenia TV (public television channel) for all citizens to view. All proceeds from ticket sales went to charity.

The Tashir-2013 Awards, held on Russia’s main stage, attracted not only celebrities from Armenia but also from Russia and overseas. The Kremlin stage hosted Sirusho, Tata Simonyan, Kristine Pepelyan, Margarita Pozoyan, Patrick Fiori and Hélène Ségara, Nikolay Baskov, Sofia Rotaru, Kristina Orbakayte, and many others. However, the appearance of Enrique Iglesias on stage, one of the most popular Latin American singers in the world, was a real bonus for the audience and TV-viewers. The Tashir-2013 Awards were presented by Garik Martirosyan and Viktoriya Lopyreva, Tatyana Gevorkyan and Andrey Malakhov.
The hall of the Kremlin Palace became immersed in an unforgettable holiday atmosphere from the outset, with the mesmerising sounds of Tolibkhon Shahidi’s music performed by the Russian State Symphony Cinema Orchestra. For the Awards Ceremony, the composer wrote a special rhapsody – a dialogue for piano – that was devoted to the great Aram Khachaturian. The spectacular gala-concert organised for the Awards Ceremony was permeated with bright, melodically rich and diverse tunes which made the evening truly unforgettable. Unique vibrant pieces, performances by celebrities, and witty comments by presenters once again made the Tashir Ceremony one of the brightest events for Armenian musical culture.

This year, the Tashir-2013 Awards were presented over six categories: Arman Ovannisyan and Kristine Pepelyan were awarded the Duo of the Year; Razmik Amyan became the Male Singer of the Year, while the inimitable Sirusho was awarded Female Singer of the Year. Margarita Pozoyan, one of the participants of The Voice – from Russian Channel One, won the Debut of the Year nomination. The Special Jury Award went to Tata Simonyan, and the honourable Friend of Armenia award was presented to Viktor Sadovnichiy, the rector of Moscow State University.
