Tashir Group for Sochi Olympics in 2014

February 20th, Sochi: Tashir takes part in constructing infrastructure for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi-2014. Tashir Group supplied the engineering infrastructure for the reconstructed Sochi marine port and completed construction of the new marine terminal and the Grand Marina that includes an exhibition hall and a shopping arcade.

Igor Bulatov, vice-president of Tashir Group, says: “Within less than a year, Tashir Group managed to deliver a number of infrastructure projects which became the signature of Sochi. The Grand Marina is already a favourite among locals and visitors alike. The new marine terminal will help to increase the capacity significantly for large vessels and make the Sochi port one of the largest in Europe. We are proud of the fact that we are part of a large team that made its contribution to the development of Sochi which will host the 2014 Olympic Games.”

The Grand Marina is located in one of the most picturesque locations of Sochi and includes a state-of-the-art complex of architectural buildings with a total area of about 20,000 square metres. It also includes an exhibition hall and a shopping arcade.Tashir completed the turn-key construction of the exhibition hall that will host national and international shows. From February 3rd and up to the end of Sochi 2014, one of the press centres for the Olympics was located here. One of the main features of the building is its multi-purpose roof terrace with an area of 1,500 square metres.
The three-story shopping arcade with a total area of about 10,000 square metres will be completed by nearly 40 shops and restaurants. Tashir will not only be responsible for all construction works but will also act as the developer of the shopping arcade.

The Grand Marina is located along the shoreline through Nesebrskaya Street – only a stone’s throw from downtown Sochi. In the future, it will become a seaside location for shopping, leisure, and business.
Within the development of Olympic infrastructure and two-fold expansion of Sochi marine port up to an area of 5 hectares (by back-filling), Tashir Group built a new marine terminal, a customs terminal, a harbour, and mooring for boats and ships. Tashir also developed all necessary utility infrastructure. This has provided an increased capacity for large vessels and the port is now capable of accepting liners from all over the world.

The new marine terminal has a total area of 20,000 square metres and is capable of handling up to 350 people an hour. It will soon become an international hub for marine passengers and cruise traffic.
Tashir Group's contribution to the shoreline included the following supplementary infrastructure: heating, water supply and sanitation, energy supply, and communication systems.
All construction projects were undertaken in accordance with environmental guidelines and taking into account the need to minimise environmental impact within this water conservation area.
