Tashir Group announces plans to develop a new furniture chain, Family Room. The first, flagship store of about 70,000 square meters is already functioning in Moscow on Kievskoye Highway. Two more stores will open in the Russian capital soon.
The first Family Room store resulted from redeveloping a RIO shopping center. Today, it is one of Moscow’s largest furniture centers, bringing together over 100 furniture and home improvement stores and offering an extremely broad range of products, from quality economy models to luxurious limited edition furniture and designer collections. Among its tenants are HOFF, 8 Marta, Askona, Mr. Doors, Anderssen, Lazurit, Angstrom, DMI, Ormatek, Kare Design, Carpets Gallery, Perrino, Kenner and many other brands.
Also, the Family Room furniture center includes the food hypermarket Lenta, clothes store H&M, an entertainment area with a multiplex of the nationwide Cinema Star chain, a Play Lab playground, a large food court and a restaurant. The center also features a large number of consumer goods and services operators: a Fora Bank office, a spa, a drugstore, mobile phone stores, etc.
Viktoria Shakhnazaryan, head of the Tashir Group commercial real estate department, said, “We think this mixed concept of a furniture center, which combines the main function of interior shopping with entertainment, works very well in this area. There is a large residential area around the center, including newly-built apartment complexes, and their residents really need a furniture center with a wide choice of operators in close proximity to their homes.”
The Family Room furniture center is located 1.5 km outside the Moscow Ring Road, at one of New Moscow’s busiest interchanges, right next to Kiyevskoye Highway, on the side that goes towards Vnukovo Airport. Moscow Metro stations Rumyantsevo and Salaryevo are located in immediate proximity.
